VON: Healthy Aging Series
Location: Piano Lounge)
The Healthy Aging Series is presented by registered kinesiologists from the VON SMART (Seniors Maintaining Active Roles Together) ® Program, and staff from Osteoporosis Canada.
Unit 4 –Exercise, Posture, and Staying in Healthy Condition
The goal of this class is to learn about the importance of strength, balance and posture training for fall prevention as well as the dangers of sedentary behaviour and deconditioning. The latest Canadian 24 Hour Movement Guidelines will also be discussed.

“Unit 3: Medications”
The goal of this class is to increase awareness that some medications and their side effects can cause falls, to learn that discussing this with a health professional may prevent falls, and to increase awareness that combinations of certain (many) medications can cause dizziness and weakness and can result in falling.
